Don’t worry if the Easter Bunny forgets to deliver eggs this Easter because the BIG Sheep, at Bideford, North Devon will have enough chocolate eggs hidden throughout their world famous family attraction to share with everyone this Easter. The BIG Sheep will be open to visitors for its annual Easter Eggstravaganza Festival from the Friday 30th March & Sunday 15th April. As well as having over 30,000 chocolate eggs to find, there will be something for all the family to enjoy this Easter.
30th March - 15th April
Take the family and enjoy hunting around the Park spotting clues along the way – you might even spot some dinosaur eggs! Complete the trail, find the answers to the questions and claim your free mini egg treat.
30th March - 13th April
Children receive a village map on entry on which to mark the location of a number of Easter chicks perched up and down the cottages along the High Street to the quay. If they spot at least 10 chicks, they can return the map to the Visitor Centre reception to win an Easter egg and a bigger prize if they spot all 15.
15th - 22nd April 11am - 5pm
The bluebells at Hartland Abbey carpet the walks from the Walled Gardens to the sea. A restored woodland path links the Summerhouse to the Gazebo and Blackpool Mill overlooking the Atlantic. The restored Summerhouse was always a favourite spot for the family to picnic and for the children to play. If it is cold there will be a lovely log fire burning! See ‘Barton Cottage’ by the sea, the home of the Dashwood family in the BBC production of ‘Sense and Sensibility’and the location for BBC’s ‘The Night Manager’ by John Le Carre. Along the way enjoy our bluebells, primroses, violets, wild anemones, wild orchids, foxgloves and much more. Dogs welcome.
20th - 22nd April
A weekend of Cornish food, beer and bands in the little harbour town of Porthleven. Fill your shopping bags with Cornish food, eat yourself silly, and drink until you are merry. Marquees on the quayside will be packed full of tasty treats, live music and cookery demonstrations. You might even spot the odd celebrity chef around too.
